General Surgeries are unique in their ability to provide team based interdisciplinary care for all conditions at BSM Hospital. Dr. I. Arun Prakash., M.S ., General & Laparoscopic & Endoscopic Surgeon., diagnose people and treat them with required medications.
Among the services we provide are palliative care and pain management for terminally ill patients, nutritional deficiency, cachexia for patients with cancers and chronic conditions, as well as counseling and support for end-of-life decisions. Some surgeries require surgeons who specialize in certain things, like cardiac (heart) surgeons or neurosurgeons brain surgeons.

All our General Surgeons have specialized knowledge of the entire surgical process, from the initial evaluation through preparation, procedure, and post-operative management.
We evaluate patients to make sure surgery is the right option, by explaining the procedure and answering questions about the procedure.
We guide our patients to prepare for the Operation, including:
Whether they need to take any tests
If they need to take or stop taking any medications
If a patient’s surgery requires a hospital stay
If they have to stop intake or drinking before the procedure
Operation Theatres (OT) at BSM Hospital
At BSM Hospital, we have a state-of-the-art Operation Theatre complex including 1 major OT and 1 minor OT on our premises.
Our Modular OT is equipped with the following striking features :
- HEPA filter (for protection against microbes and other dust particles)
- Laminar flow AC (again prevents entry of microbes)
- Autoclave and ETO (to aid in perfect sterilization of our surgical instruments and drapes)
